Lucknow: Highlighting the sweeping changes in Uttar Pradesh over the past several years, senior leader Dr. Rajeshwar Singh said the state has undergone a historic transformation since 2017 under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He described the state as a “growth engine” of India, driven by inclusive development and strong governance.

Dr. Singh emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has moved beyond its earlier challenges of weak law and order to establish a robust administrative framework. He noted that over ₹2,000 crore worth of mafia assets have been seized, while more than 10,000 criminals have been arrested or neutralized. Modern policing systems, including Dial 112, cyber police stations, and forensic facilities, have significantly strengthened law enforcement.

Infrastructure development has been a major highlight, with seven expressways operational, five under construction, and several more planned. Metro services are now running in multiple cities, while 16 airports are operational across the state. Projects such as the Noida International Airport are further boosting connectivity.

On the economic front, Dr. Singh stated that the state’s Gross State Domestic Product has grown from ₹10.9 lakh crore to over ₹24 lakh crore, contributing nearly 9% to India’s GDP. He added that investment proposals worth over ₹35 lakh crore have been received, with projects exceeding ₹10 lakh crore already under implementation. Initiatives like the defence corridor are expected to generate large-scale employment and industrial growth.

Agriculture and irrigation have also seen significant progress, with irrigation capacity expanding by over 19 lakh hectares, benefiting more than 43 lakh farmers. Welfare schemes have ensured over 60 lakh houses, universal electrification, and more than 1.7 crore LPG connections through transparent systems.

Dr. Singh also highlighted advancements in women’s safety and empowerment through initiatives such as Mission Shakti, alongside improvements in digital governance and public service delivery. He noted that over 9 lakh government jobs have been provided, including more than 2 lakh in the police force, while millions of employment opportunities have been created in the private and MSME sectors.

Concluding, Dr. Singh said the transformation of Uttar Pradesh is measurable and people-centric, reflecting a clear vision of building a secure, prosperous, and self-reliant state.
